Our Firm's Focus

Hamil Little is a Georgia based business law firm whose lawyers are committed to providing excellent legal representation and sound advice in the specialized field of healthcare law. Among other types of physician representation, we represent physicians with regard to Medical Board and similar professional matters pending before the Georgia and South Carolina Medical Boards, Nursing Boards, Pharmacy Boards, and other professional licensing authorities. Medical Board investigations and disciplinary matters are by definition high stakes situations, as such may permanently impact a medical professional's career; these types of legal engagements thus may require great care and meticulous effort. By State law, Medical Boards have authority to regulate physicians, physician assistants, orthotists, physician residents, pain management specialists, and acupuncturists, among other types of healthcare professionals. The mission of a Medical Board is to protect the health of a State's residents by proper licensing of doctors and other medical professionals pursuant to a State Medical Practice Act. In most States, the Medical Board will comprise volunteer members appointed by the State's Governor or other official. Some of the members may be actively practicing physicians. A Medical Board's responsibilities may include, for example, investigating alleged malpractice settlements and complaints against healthcare professionals. The Georgia Medical Composite Board licenses over 45,000 professionals. Our law firm's attorneys practice before the Georgia and South Carolina Medical Boards and other licensing entities. We have background, experience and knowledge that enables us to assist professionals in protecting their licenses and careers. If you have a question with regard to a Medical Board or other professional licensing matter, contact us today at info@hamillittle.com.
