Caitlin: Hi, I'm Caitlin Lentz. This Total Health Law video primer is about meeting with a medical board. Prepare by imagining you are on the board. Board members act as gatekeepers in a sense, charged with the responsibility for overseeing licensure in your state. If you were in their shoes, what would you want to know about yourself that demonstrates what you bring to the table as a good healthcare provider?

Be yourself. Before the interview, the medical board member's knowledge of you is mostly limited to words on paper. The board interview is your opportunity for the board to see who you really are, and for you to show that you are a true professional, even in addressing anything difficult that brings you before the board. Be transparent. As with trying to persuade in just about any forum, credibility is everything. It's crucial not to appear to conceal or mislead. Own any mistakes and explain them in an honest but positive light. I hope you find these tips useful.
