Eric Garber, who has served as Of Counsel to our law firm, recently accepted a judicial clerkship position, where he will serve for the next twelve to twenty-four months. Until the completion of his clerkship, Eric will not represent and advise clients in private practice. Upon completion of his clerkship, Eric anticipates returning to the private practice of law. Historically, Eric represents and advises businesses, professionals and others with regard to healthcare, business, staffing, employment, estate planning and family law matters. Eric previously served the citizens of Gainesville, Georgia as a member of Coleman, Chambers, Rogers & Williams, LLP, where Eric represented numerous clients from inception through resolution in various family law actions (including adoption, divorce, child custody/support, alimony, contempt, modification, stalking/domestic violence, paternity/legitimation, and guardianship), civil litigation, and estate planning matters throughout Northeast Georgia. Prior to his time with Coleman Chambers, Eric lived and worked in Atlanta, Georgia as an associate at Wargo & French, LLP, where he practiced and served clients in the areas of civil/commercial litigation, business law, corporate transactions, and real estate. While at Wargo French, Eric prepared and negotiated manufacturing, purchase, reseller, sale, lease, services, staffing and licensing agreements on behalf of clients in the communications, chemical manufacturing, finance, food service, hospitality, and healthcare sectors, as well as legal instruments and memorandum related to corporate, real estate, and other transactional matters, including state and federal lending and securities regulation, freedom of information legislation, public disclosure and privacy policy regulation, property liability, warranty of title, and insurance coverage disputes, among others. Eric also prepared organizational documents, operating agreements, and related corporate documents, as well as building leases and subleases, build-out and improvement agreements, title memorandum, and other real estate-related documents. Eric also represented financial institutions, government-sponsored entities, and other commercial clients in trial and appeal in state and federal litigation. Eric graduated Magna cum Laude from the University of Georgia School of Law, where he was inducted as a member of the Order of the Coif and served as a board member for the Georgia Law Review, as well as Summa cum Laude from the University of Florida's Warrington College of Business, where he majored in Business Economics and minored in Entrepreneurship. Eric happily serves the Augusta, Georgia community through his services as a member of the Age Friendly Augusta's Advisory Board as well as a member of the Friends of the Augusta Library's Advisory Board.
